In this capacity, the ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand as an implanted team member for a well-known technology company. The Senior Event Technician will be responsible for leading the technical production for mid-level events requiring support with Audio/Video, staging, lighting and design needs. The role requires strong technical understanding and practical experience operating event production systems, with extensive experience in A/V and technical direction for both corporate events and live experiential events.
For events, the goal is to provide a seamless technology experience to all attendees, press and partners, as well as create a more efficient and reliable technical environment for event staff and vendors. In this role you’ll work with internal teams as well as external clients and vendor partners on a daily basis.
? Serve as main point of contact for all Event Production related matters
? Lead the technical production of high-profile, technically complex events and assist in the hands-on delivery of all events
? Provide technical solutions and support to the wider team and assist in the hands-on delivery of events
? Provide feedback to Team Lead on event production equipment usage including but not limited to audio desk, lighting desk, vision mixer and PTZ camera controller
? Operate event production equipment including but not limited to audio desk, lighting desk, vision mixer and PTZ camera controller
? Work with client teams and stakeholders using ticketing system to coordinate events
? Lead and attend site visits and advise on best options and set up for venues
? Manage vendors and freelancers as needed
? Provide full event production support either on your own for smaller events or as part of a team for larger events
? Manage the day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance of a hi-tech conference venue
? Coordinate on-site troubleshooting, equipment repair, and upgrade projects with System Support Engineer and vendors for production systems
? Train and mentor new technicians on production workflows and systems as well as administrative procedures
? Work with clients/stakeholders who might not be technically minded in pre-production to explain the capabilities of the space and go over best practice to ensure the event is a success
? Basic editing of video footage to provide clients with recordings of their event
? Work with client event production team to provide feedback on possible enhancements and improvements to the event space
? Manage client expectations on production issues
? Liaise across different levels within the immediate team, the client’s organization, and third-party vendors
? Work closely with customers to establish A/V and staging layouts as well as budgets for events
? Oversee building of staging and A/V set up on-site
? Review and confirm final labor costs in event production with internal team
? Identify new and alternative ways of approaching FIRST’s technical production offering to clients
? 5+ years’ experience within the technical event production/broadcast environment
? Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
? Expert/in-depth understanding of audio visual technology and advancements including lighting, audio/video output, rigging and power
? Experience working with the following equipment/tools is helpful but not required: Yamaha CL series desks; Final Cut ProX; Keynote; Google G-Suite; ETC Ion lighting desk; Crestron Control systems, ROSS Carbonite desks, Panasonic PTZ camera controllers, Dante Controller, Shure Wireless Workbench, PlaybackPro, and Clear-Com systems, WATCHOUT, Meyer Galileo, and LED walls.
? High level of proficiency in the technical delivery of high-quality events
? Video output experience with strong technical understanding of systems
? Experience operating large format event production systems
? Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must to build and maintain relationships
? Ability to prioritize while adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
? Experience managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail
? Ability to manage many projects at once with varying levels of production
? Knowledge and ability to use PTZ cameras and controllers
? Knowledge of Live Streaming in various encoding platforms
? Ability to generate and provide technical metrics related to an event(s)
? Ability to read building schematics and installation diagrams in order to troubleshoot
? Understanding of TCP/IP networking
? Understanding of different audio and video protocols and codecs

? Assume responsibility for own environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies while having clean smart surroundings
? Work intelligently and ensure that team management is aware of problems or issues which negatively affect productivity
? Build excellent relations with the team, clients, vendors, and key venues through positive communications
