Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary
Lock Haven University invites applications for a part-time, permanent Head Womens Golf Coach to begin on or about January 1, 2020.

Essential Duties
The Head Womens Golf Coach is responsible for the administration of all aspects of the program including, but not limited to: coaching, including practice and tournament play; planning; fiscal management; scheduling; summer camps; fund-raising; recruiting; monitoring academic and disciplinary standing of student-athletes; NCAA and PSAC compliance, maintaining positive relations with support staff, university community, off campus constituents, media and alumni; personnel training and supervision and fulfill other duties as they arise or as assigned by the Athletic Director or the Vice President.

Specific Duties
To direct coaching, recruiting, fundraising and administrative duties related to those responsibilities of overseeing a competitive NCAA Division II womens golf program.

Minimum Qualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Demonstrated effectiveness and experience in:

High school or college teaching or coaching
Recruiting
Fundraising

Strong interpersonal skills communicating with student-athletes, campus faculty and staff, prospects, alumni, University supporters and the public.
Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with University, NCAA , PSAC rules, regulations and policies.
Effective organization/administrative skills and computer knowledge.
Bachelors Degree
Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree
Successful high school or college coaching experience
CPR , AED and First Aid certification
Experience coaching within the NCAA and PSAC rules and regulations

Physical Demands

Ability to teach golf skills and techniques.
Ability to travel for the purpose of recruiting and team competition.

Background Clearances
In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 (HB 435), appointment is contingent upon completion of a satisfactory background investigation which includes, but is not limited to, Act 34, Pennsylvania Criminal Record Clearance; Act 151, Child Abuse Clearance; and Act 114, Federal Bureau of Investigations ( FBI ) Criminal Background Checks.
Appointment is provisional for a single 90 day period provided the Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form and verification of your application for the three background checks are returned to Deana Hill, Associate VP for Human Resources.

Annual Security Report (Clery Act)
The Lock Haven Universitys Annual Security Report and Fire Safety Report are now available on-line or in paper form by request. Federal law requires these reports to contain policy statements, crime and fire safety statistics for the university. The policy statements address the universitys policies, procedures, and programs concerning safety and security, i.e. policies for responding to emergency situations, fire safety procedures and statistics, and sexual offenses, etc. Three years worth of statistics is included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in on-campus buildings, or off-campus sites property owned or controlled by the university and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to the campus.
