Playwire is looking for a driven, outgoing, and experienced digital advertising sales professional with demonstrated success in developing, managing and growing a high-opportunity territory. This Director of Programmatic Sales will be part of our rapidly growing team and will be responsible for growing Playwire’s endemic and non-endemic clients and increase demand programmatically.
This position will work to promote our programmatic media and data solutions direct to brand, building and growing existing relationships, and developing new brand business throughout our entire ad stack. In this role you will manage the sales process for your channel from prospecting to close while ensuring excellent service and support to prospects and clients. The ideal candidate will be focused on monitoring lead follow-up for sales development and have a proven track record of meeting measurable sales goals. A successful candidate will have a contagious and insatiable desire to win and an inherent interest in the ad technology landscape.
This role will report directly to the SVP of Sales and COO.
Strong knowledge and relationships within the programmatic advertising ecosystem – including trade desks, DSPs, agencies, and client direct
Develop a strategic plan to achieve revenue goals; hit or exceed these revenue goals
Develop and maintain strong active relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels
Understand agency, advertiser, data and vendor landscapes and trends, reporting these to the organization; who are the major players and how they buy
Understand and effectively communicate Playwire’s value proposition, technology, processes, partnerships as it relates to growth of current and prospective client accounts
Ideally has an in-depth knowledge of the industry and of the biddable media marketplace —past, present, and future
Plans, directs and coordinates sales activities, including management of the sales pipeline
Leverages external relationships and personal network to generate sales leads
Regularly involved in all phases of the sales lifecycle including: identifying and developing leads; meeting with clients; developing value propositions; financial deal structuring; to contract negotiation and closing
Proven sales skills in complex deal development, financial structuring, negotiations and closing new and existing clients
Oversee a portfolio of strategic accounts and monitor changes in key metrics, analyze performance trends and deliver on-going reviews of these items to clients
Strong understanding of advertising agency industry
3+ year Enterprise DSP, DMP, Marketing Cloud, or other enterprise consultative sales role experience
Ability to operate in a dynamic and fast changing environment and quickly build internal relationships
Knowledge of the online media business and underlying technology and research
Excellent sales skills including the ability to create and build relationships
Demonstrated track record of success and established relationships
Strong analytical and consultative skills
Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Diligent work ethic. Must be self-motivated and able to take the initiative to get the job done
Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; or equivalent
5+ years of digital media sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Understanding of the programmatic, RTB, platform, automation eco-system
Deep knowledge of digital media advertising trends
Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a team
Proven track record of exceeding both individual and team quotas
Demonstrate an ability to think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate efficiently internally and externally
Clearly and effectively convey your passion and product knowledge in a polished manner
Display a passionate, positive, and problem solving attitude
Overwhelming desire to win, and to continually improve your personal and professional skills
Experience working with top digital media planning/buying agencies in the respective region
