?SUMMARY: ??
Program Manager: This role works under the direction of the Director, Scientific Program Management of SU2C to provide leadership in planning, developing and implementing of SU2C?s scientific programs, with the main focus on managing Dream Teams, Research Teams, SU2C Catalyst, and special awards.?This role carries a high degree of visibility and requires close collaboration with team members across SU2C and EIF along with external partners. The Program Manager is a passionate, ambitious, professional who can deliver results in an organization and a fast-paced environment. This role represents SU2C and EIF in planning events, scientific reviews, and managing relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Translates the Director, Scientific Program Management?s departmental vision into concrete plans to achieve SU2C milestones and deliverables for the success of the SU2C program as well as other goals?Interfaces with key internal staff and external constituents on behalf of the Director, Scientific Program ManagementRepresents SU2C in meetings with key personnel to develop strategies and implement those strategies for SU2C goals as assigned?Manages the SU2C Dream Teams, Research Teams, SU2C Catalyst, and special awards by working with SU2C, EIF, and the assigned academic scientist, as well as the Team leaders and Project Managers, including the contracting side of the processMonitors SU2C portfolio and scientific news to support communications efforts Understands and utilizes the motivation and drivers of the cancer research industryFacilitate and manage the process of identifying, prioritizing, chartering, communicating, and managing key program-level strategic projects to ensure the objectives and operational efficiencies are achieved ?Disseminates information from the SU2C President and CEO to the staff and external audiences in a clear, concise, open and transparent mannerFollows up with key contacts through written and verbal communicationsResponds to and/or escalates issues as they arise with various projects?Researches and identifies national thought leaders in the field of cancer research or of other related SU2C goalsCultivates and manages the relationship between SU2C and those leaders to ensure success of the program and its goals ?Monitors trends, researches appropriate subject matter, new technology and assimilates this information into a business summary ?Plan and develop content for departmental meetings including staff meetings ?Proactively schedules and conducts internal and external meetings as needed ?Must be able to travel over 25%, at times with short noticeOther duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:????Minimum of 5-7 years experience managing programs for agency or non-profit, preferably in biotech, pharma, or a cancer research organization (CRO)Advanced degree (MBA, JD, PhD, MD) is requiredClinically oriented training and experience in clinical trials and research are a plusTranslational, first in human, and/or signal finding trials experience are a plusMust have knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
Language Skills: Proficiency in the English Language and excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to the ability to present sensitive issues with a high level of tact, diplomacy and integrity.
