This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join Storyful. The role of Sales Manager is to drive and grow revenue with Storyful’s key publisher partners. Storyful works with the world’s largest publishers, from the Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. Our products range from software-as-a-service style Newswire products to bespoke, consultative partnerships including our News Intelligence and Misinformation Training initiatives.

We are looking for a dynamic sales entrepreneur who is client focused with a passion for journalism and in-depth knowledge of user-generated content, social media and digital video. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of building new business as well as growing business with existing clients. Above all else, we are looking for someone that is passionate about selling content and enthusiastic about the prospect of building a new, high-growth business.
Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, News you will drive and develop long term client relationships and lead negotiations alongside Storyful’s News Intelligence, Editorial, Partner Success and Product teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.


Consistently meet and exceed your revenue targets through renewals of annual contracts, upselling of new products and identification of new partners.
Prepare client negotiations, presentations and proposals for your portfolio
Identify gaps in revenue and implement relevant strategies to drive revenue
Seek and identify new business prospects for the Storyful News division
Prospect, pitch and close sales
Maintain an awareness of competitor activity and make recommendations to the leadership team
Build and maintain client relationships and ensure high levels of sales service and a customer-centric approach
Actively participate in the building of sales products based on client needs
Provide management with weekly client updates and accurate sales forecasting
Open doors with key decision makers at publishers and media organizations
Bring an entrepreneurial spirit that adds to the culture of a start-up (Storyful), but also an ability to think of the broader context of how business can be expanded within the larger organization (News Corporation)

Skills and Experience Required

4 years experience in a revenue-focused sales role within the digital marketing/advertising or social software industry
Proven to thrive in a startup environment
Proven record of prospecting, growing and managing revenue
Expertise in the digital marketing ecosystem, including but not limited to UGC, video, brand content, and social insights
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience favourable·   
Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Google tool-set and other cloud-based business tools
An expansive network of publisher and media connections
Experience using a CRM system (salesforce preferable)
Strategic solutions seller with a consultative style
Expert networking abilities
Ability to build an extensive list of prospects
Exceptional business writing skills
Some travel may be required
