Director, Human Resources

We are looking for a Director of Human Resources to lead our expanding Human Resources team! You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization to ensure a seamless design and execution of HR initiatives that will support our mission and business objectives and reinforce our organization's values. The ideal candidate will be very culture-centric and be able to demonstrate a passion for driving and expanding talent, culture, and engagement initiatives in a fast-growing startup organization!
What You Will Do
Mission, Vision & Values: Partner with the CEO and executive operating committee to set and support the vision and long-term strategy.
Culture and Engagement: Drive a culture that rewards, promotes and encourages high performance throughout the organization while maintaining VL's reputation as a great place to work.
Talent Development: Oversee the design and implementation of employee training programs that support the current and future needs of the company; Develop leadership-focused trainings, support career-pathing initiatives, and identify current gaps and areas of focus for training.
Team-building: Partner with leaders to build high-performing leadership teams to help sustain our company's rapid growth and development. Conduct talent assessments to identify strengths and identify gaps where professional support is needed.
Recruitment & Retention: Develop strategies for identifying, engaging, acquiring and developing the best talent for all disciplines across the enterprise. Enhance our recruiting and interview processes in a data-driven way to target the highest caliber candidates, support growth and build a strong hiring brand. Develop and implement stratagies for retaining top talent.
Onboarding: Ensure onboarding processes and offerings are seamless, scalable and in line with market trends and candidate expectations.
Performance Management: Act as a coach, mentor, strategist, trusted advisor, and expert on matters related to performance. Enhance performance systems and processes that reinforce a culture of feedback and high achievement.
Compensation and Benefits: Architect and implement a market-based compensation strategy including total compensation, benefits and wellness. Lead benchmarking and analytics to improve our understanding of competitiveness in the industry.
HR Department Management: Continually develop, implement and update HR policies, procedures and systems. Manage, motivate and develop a results-oriented and high-functioning HR team. Oversee all HR compliance requirements and documentation and ensure information is maintained with 100% accuracy and confidentiality.
Skills & Competencies
Bachelor's degree required, in Human Resources or related field
SHRM or PHR certification, preferred
8-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience
Experience with multi-state management, a plus
Ability to have difficult conversations using tact and professionalism
The ability to build and maintain effective relationships
Conduct yourself with business integrity
